God has given us an opportunity to serve Him in the Children’s Ministry, which we believe is an important level in the children’s lives.
As Children’s Church, our mission is based on Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way they should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.
It is therefore our honour to provide every child within our reach the opportunity to know Jesus Christ and to be established in His Word. We also come alongside the parents and family in equipping them to raise their children in the Word of God. In Matthew 19:14 Jesus says, ’’Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom belongs to such as these.’’
Our main activity is Sunday Services where we provide every child within our reach the opportunity to know Christ and to be established in His Word. We have 3 services including 9 o’clock and 11 o’clock which are conducted in English and 1 o’clock service which is conducted in English, Lugbara and Luganda.
The children are divided into 5 age groups, namely; 0-3 (Little Angels), 4-5 (Little Lambs), 6-7 (Discoverers), 8-9 (Conquerors) and 10-13 (Explorers). These groups are further divided into smaller groups for a more effective Bible study experience.
Other activities include Children’s Bible camp which happens at the beginning of the year, Children’s self-awareness workshops, Sports Sundays, Christmas productions, outreaches to the neighbouring communities, Praise rallies, Art and Craft Sundays, Family visits among others. All these activities equip the children with various skills on top of the fun involved.
The Children’s Ministry is under the leadership of a full-time Children’s Minister. She leads a team of volunteers including students, non-students and parents who altogether ensure the smooth running of the ministry activities.
Activities for the volunteers
Teachers’ Retreats, Fellowships and prayer meetings, training and refresher training for the teachers and evaluation meetings which usually happen at the end of the year.
Testimony from children
“Children’s church has enabled us to know that God is real.
It has enabled us to know how to pray.
It has strengthened our faith in God.
It has enabled us to know good and bad and it has also enabled us to know that Heaven is real.”
